Fr. Uba in Lagos, woos parishioners

PARISH Priest of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Awba-Ofemili, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chike Uba, was in Lagos over the weekend, Ofemili Times authoritatively reports.

It was also gathered that the trip to Lagos was in continuation of his several projects at the parish, of which church building topped the agenda.

Ofemili Times recalls that the young energetic priest last year embarked on tour of parishioners abroad in order to enable him meet with parishioners in diaspora who are living outside Awba-Ofemili.

This took him to Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Aba and northern parts of the country to mention a few.

This year, however, the ‘meet the parishioners’ approach took him to neighbouring Niger republic.

At the time of filling this report his full agenda was not yet disclosed as he continued to engage Awba-Ofemili indigenes.

Our correspondents further gathered that this is the first time, a priest posted to the town would involve himself so much in bringing developmental projects like the church edifice to a logical conclusion, among others.

Also last year, his visitation was summed up with a grand relaunch of the church building project which attracted a lot of Awba-Ofemili indigenes and their friends.

The launch was opened with a mass conducted by the Bishiop of Awka Archdiocese.
